An independent wandering freelancer. He is known mainly for working as an engineer and as mercenary, often mixing both due to his especially advanced equipment, either maintaining, upgrading or using it. He is not immediately allegiant to anyone, but is often finding himself working for the Furria Guild or particular expeditions in need of manpower. His fees are usually on the lower end and in dire situations he helps free of charge.
Luka is a lonely and reason-focused cat-type. Most often seen quietly minding his own business and rarely bothering to approach others; unless he needs help with something, someone else needs help or he is working in a team.
If someone approaches him though, they'd find Luka to be a calm, mild and polite typyl, if straightforward in his interactions. He doesn’t show much interest in socialization, unless the topic itself interests him, with the biggest example being both technology and combat; he is usually studying these two, and when he’s not trying to craft or upgrade new weapons or equipment, he can be found analyzing tactics, gear, maneuvers, etc. If he’s bored, bringing up an advanced weapon or defense system is a quick way to draw his attention. He is especially attracted to “mundane” gear (objects like swords, spears, guns and physical armor) over more sorcia-reliant analogues.
However, he can also show a more stubborn, blunt and insensitive side. He is not very good at handling emotionality, as it usually strikes him as sappy and prone to cause bad decisions - except for anger, which he finds respectable, but still dangerous. Sensitive people usually strike him as needing to toughen up.
Morality-wise, he is obsessed with righteousness, and aiding other people is something he sees less like his own kindness and more as both an obligation and an ideal. He idolizes heroism and virtue. He has a moral code and follows traditions he adopted before antecedency, and trusts that following them would bring greater good in the long run despite apparent evidence to the contrary; while this makes him unwavering against attempts to bribe or tempt him with self-gain and makes him stalwart about his ideals of helping everyone he can, it can sometimes clash with Typyl culture or other's beliefs, making him act awkward, highlight his stubborness, or making him look bigoted at worst; he quickly attempts to brush off said situations and focus on the task at hand.
In battle, Luka relies on defense, tactics and reflex: He seeks to make use of terrain and advantages at first, then after that, in the middle of combat, relies on reaction, defending in multiple ways: blocking, parrying, deflecting, etc. and maneuvering to counter his enemy’s attacks as well as strike past their defenses, either with single, powerful attacks or multiple smaller, constant and unrelenting hits, depending on the target. He has a strong preference for heavy armor and straightforward, overwhelming force either applied at a weak point to ensure it is exploited or to overcome a target’s defenses. To an enemy, he would seem bewilderingly persistent in his defense, and alarming once he goes on the offensive. Outside of it, he’s on the lookout for enemies trying to flank or otherwise get through allies, as well as fixing any damaged equipment and making sure he and his allies have enough resources to keep fighting.
He admires the military, but finds himself unable to join and take the full commitment that it requires; he blames it on himself being lazy.
When asked about his pre-antecedent life, he speaks with nostalgia, fondness and gratitude for his life, yet would seem to harbor some grief and guilt, as he believes he left his loved ones to mourn him without paying them back for their help.
Luka was just a digital artist and software engineering student before antecedence. His interest in technology and warfare comes from then, hence his knowledge on the topic carrying over.
Some of his past can become apparent when he occasionally draws during his spare time; and how sometimes he attempts to set up sorcia-powered mechanisms in basic logic terms and statements.
His own loss before antecedence left him in deep guilt and grief inside the crystal room, as he felt that his life was unfulfilled, and most importantly, that he had not paid back to his family or those who helped him in life, leaving them mourning him instead, and him unable to see them again.
Luka has a strong affinity for three things: tools, tactics and maneuvers. When it comes to tools, he mainly uses the following:
A two-handed, selective-fire assault rifle that Luka built, based roughly off a design he remembers from the antecedent world, although mechanically different. It can be loaded with either normal bullets or sorcia-enhanced ones, but Luka mostly relies on normal ones to reduce costs.
It has had a few minor modifications, mainly a stock he made himself to shift the weapon’s center of mass, slightly improving accuracy; and an extension on the under barrel rail he thought would be needed to add a bigger grenade launcher than normal. He only added a normal-sized one howered, as a bigger one would add unnecessary weight.
He also added electromagnets onto the barrel as an experiment to turn the weapon into a coilgun, but they’re unused, as he hasn’t figured out an optimal activation formula for them to work on their own at optimal capacity.
Underbarrel Grenade Launcher
Luka attached a grenade launcher on the bottom of the barrel. Like the rifle itself, it can be loaded with a variety of projectiles. However, as with the rifle, Luka mostly uses common explosive grenades to keep the costs reasonable.
