Scaeva

Raksh's gunblade, Scaeva, is a specially augmented weapon that is able to utilize special Sorcia-infused cartridges to imbue different Aspect properties into the gunblade. The cartridges can imbue most Aspects onto the weapon, but there are a few rules to its use.

  1. Each cartridge can have a maximum of 80 FP at any given point. This FP can only be restored by infusing Sorcia into the cartridges in towns or at resting spots.
  2. Cartridges can be swapped out at any point, costing a turn to do so. Cartridges with FP still remaining cannot be slotted back into Scaeva for four turns after removal.
  3. FP consumption for most Aspects will happen if an attack or status infliction is successful. For all others, FP consumption will happen at the end of Raksh's turn.
  4. Some of the more potent effects will consume more FP than others.
  5. Most Aspect attributes and effects are able to be further utilized via “Drive” skills, which are powerful attacks that use the effect granted by the imbued Aspect with a much higher efficacy. Some attributes do not have Drive skills, while others can only be used via a Drive skill. Using a Drive skill will consume all remaining FP in the cartridge.
  6. The user can only utilize up to 25 Aspects with the weapon at any given time.
  7. The only two Aspects it cannot imbue regardless of what the user selects are :medius: Medimo [#REDIRECT] and :amplius: Amplius, the Aspects of the weapon and cartridges respectively.
  8. Each elemental Aspect may only represent the element (if applicable), and each symbolic and spiritual Aspect can only represent one specific attribute that will remain static for its user.
  9. Only one Aspect can be imbued at a time, and imbuing another Aspect will overwrite the previous one.

Lastly, consuming all or above the maximum amount of FP in a cartridge, either through a “Drive” skill or continuous use of imbued Aspects, will cause the cartridge to overheat for a certain length of time depending on the amount of total FP used over 80, which removes the currently imbued Aspect from the weapon. This overheated cartridge should not be removed until it cools down or the cartridge will be damaged and rendered unusable unless repaired in a specific way. However, if a cartridge’s FP is 0 instead of a negative number, the overheat will only last an instant, and can be ejected immediately without consequences. Additionally, if removed while overheated, the cartridge will cool down within a handful of seconds regardless of the predetermined length on the overheat, allowing for a quick start to repairs if anyone nearby knows the specific repairing process.

  • Using :aer: Aer grants Raksh's normal attacks the “wind” element.

  • Using :mors: Mors grants Raksh’s normal single-target attacks a low chance of instantly killing the target. Successful infliction of instant death will automatically overheat the cartridge.
  • :mors: Mors Drive is an area-of-effect attack, with a high chance of instant death on each target, that automatically damages the cartridge used based on the remaining FP in the cartridge, and prevents the use of Aspect imbuement for one hour. If the cartridge’s remaining FP is low enough, the cartridge is completely destroyed beyond repair.

:indivisus: Indivisus: Universal, FP cost per attack: 20 (40 for multi-target)

  • Using :indivisus: Indivisus grants Raksh’s normal attacks the “almighty” element, which cannot be resisted or nullified, in exchange for high FP cost.
  • :indivisus: Indivisus Drive is an extremely powerful single-target attack that ignores all defense stats. (Basically it treats the target as having a defense stat of 0.)

:minuo: Minuo: Loss, FP cost per attack: 10 (20 for multi-target)

  • Using :minuo: Minuo grants Raksh’s normal attacks a medium chance to inflict silence on the target(s).
  • :minuo: Minuo Drive is a powerful-area-of-effect attack that will always inflict silence on all attacked enemies.

:verto: Verto: Exchange, FP cost per attack: 20 (cannot be used for multi-target)

  • Using :verto: Verto grants Raksh’s normal single-target attacks increased damage to targets afflicted with at least one status ailment. This effect does not increase with two or more ailments.
  • :verto: Verto Drive is a powerful single-target attack that deals more damage depending on the number of status ailments on the target. (1.5x for one ailment, 2x for two ailments, 2.5x for three ailments) All status ailments on the target are automatically cured regardless of remaining length.

:imitio: Imitio: Mirror, FP cost per turn: 15

  • Using :imitio: Imitio summons a double of Raksh that can damage enemies. Enemies in turn can target the double, but will always miss.
  • :imitio: Imitio Drive is a powerful area-of-effect attack that consumes the double and deals increased damage based on the number of times the double was targeted by a damaging attack.

:firmus: Firmus: Melee, FP cost per turn: 10

  • Using :firmus: Firmus increases Raksh’s strength for as long as it is active.
  • :firmus: Firmus Drive is a powerful area-of-effect attack that increases the strength of Raksh and his allies for two turns.

:spatium: Spatium: Range, FP cost per turn: 10

  • Using :spatium: Spatium increases Raksh’s melee attack range for as long as it is active.
  • :spatium: Spatium Drive is a powerful area-of-effect attack with a longer range that increases the attack range of Raksh and his allies’ melee attacks for two turns.

:divum: Divum: Jump, FP cost per use: 10, cannot be used in battle

  • The :divum: Divum Aspect grants Raksh increased jump height for 50 steps per use.
  • :divum: Divum cannot be used in combat, and thus does not have a Drive skill.

:velox: Velox: Swiftness, FP cost per turn: 10

  • Using :velox: Velox increases Raksh’s movement speed out of battle, and dexterity in battle for as long as it is active.
  • :velox: Velox Drive is a powerful area-of-effect attack that increases the dexterity of Raksh and his allies for two turns.

:visio: Visio: Sight, FP cost per attack: 10 (20 for multi-target), FP cost per use out-of-battle: 15

  • Using :visio: Visio grants dark sight to Raksh for 80 steps outside of battle, and grants Raksh’s normal attacks a medium chance to inflict blind on the target(s) in battle. When entering a battle in a dark area, using this Aspect automatically grants dark sight for the remainder of the battle regardless of whether FP reaches 0 or the Aspect is overwritten.
  • :visio: Visio Drive is a powerful area-of-effect attack that will always inflict blind on all attacked enemies.

:vox: Vox: Noise, FP cost per attack: 10 (20 for multi-target)

  • Using :vox: Vox grants Raksh’s normal attacks a low chance to stun the target(s) for one turn.
  • :vox: Vox Drive is an-area-of-effect attack that will always stun all attacked enemies for two turns, and stun all other enemies for one turn.

:coacto: Coacto: Trap, FP cost per attack: 10 (20 for multi-target)

  • Using :coacto: Coacto grants Raksh’s normal attacks a medium chance to inflict paralysis on the target(s).
  • :coacto: Coacto Drive is a powerful-area-of-effect attack that will always inflict paralysis on all attacked enemies.

:aporia: Aporia: Chaos, FP cost per attack: 10 (20 for multi-target)

  • Using :aporia: Aporia grants Raksh’s normal attacks a medium chance to inflict confusion on the target(s).
  • :aporia: Aporia Drive is a powerful-area-of-effect attack that will always inflict confusion on all attacked enemies.

:reicio: Reicio: Weakness, FP cost per attack: 10 (20 for multi-target)

  • Using :reicio: Reicio unlocks special variants of Raksh’s normal attacks that each lower a specific stat of the target(s). Debuff potencies are increased (1.5x multiplier) on targets afflicted with at least one status ailment.
  • :reicio: Reicio Drive is a powerful area-of-effect skill that lowers all stats for attacked enemies. Debuff potencies are increased (1.5x multiplier) on targets afflicted with at least one status ailment.

:scio: Scio: Discovery, FP cost: 0

  • The :scio: Scio Aspect allows Raksh to acquire a complete map of a dungeon, or a map of a large portion of an open area, by placing the tip of his weapon on the ground. Using this Aspect requires a blank sheet of paper (any size).
  • :scio: Scio cannot be used in combat, and thus does not have a Drive skill. It is also his only Aspect that costs specific items to use, as opposed to FP or cartridges.

:victus: Victus: Preservation, can only be used as a Drive skill

  • The :victus: Victus Aspect allows Raksh to give himself or a target a dose of adrenaline that will prevent his/her HP from going below 1 for 180 seconds out of battle, or four turns in battle.
  • :victus: Victus’ effect requires the use of a Drive skill to utilize, meaning that use of this Aspect will automatically overheat the cartridge. It is also the only Drive Skill that Raksh can use outside of battle.
