🔰 Typyl: Name
name = top
Last Updated: — fiaKaiera 2018/02/08 13:03
The most important part of a Typyl is to be given a Typyl a name to be called as so they know which individual is being called.
This part of the guide covers three sections: Glyph Set Name, Given Name & Surname, and their Furrial Display Class.
Glyph Set Name
name = glyph
Code in Template:name-glyph
The Glyph Set Name is their full name displayed in Figlyphs. The glyph set name is different from the Given Name and Surname mainly because the Glyph Set Name is actually entered in differently compared to both Given Name is Surname.
For those using the Google Docs template, you do not have to enter this in as it is not inside the template.
To create an individual's glyph set name, one must know the rules for writing in Figlyphs, in terms of both the wiki and its rules. Check Typying Figlyphs Inside the Wiki to know how.
To help with this, a tool is made to display Figlyphs with ease.
Use the Figlyphs Converter to easily create the character's Glyph Set Name.
Forename & Surname
name = name
Code in Template:name-full
,name-first
andname-last
A furrial's Forename (first name) and Surname (last name) is used to identify a specific furrial. The personal name (full name) of a furrial contains both forename and surname next to each other and can be interchanged, depending on culture.
For some individuals, they may not have a surname and is considered mononymous.
In their profiles, you will see their surname displayed as —
. (or ---
when editing)
Rules: Names
- Names are not longer than 12 characters per word (a stacked vowel in Figlyphs is considered one letter)
- When a name has diacritics (á, ï, ô, etc.), you would have to type the representative letter stack in Figlyphs
- Example: French e is (e) or (ee), è/ê is (ee), é is (ei)
- No numerals or pictograms
- No ridiculous or shameful names
- No profanity
Tip: Remember, names in Furria are pronounced differently in Figlyphs.
Vowels are pronounced exactly in Japanese and is modified on stacked vowels. You can maintain their normal name, but in Figlyphs we recommend you type the way it is intended to be pronounced.
Furrial Display Class
name = class
Code in Template:disp-class
The Furrial Display Class refers to a Typyl individual using a combination of two furrial classes they have learned before up for display. Even though an individual can learn multiple furrial classes, they can only use at most two for display to not overwhelm fellow individuals.
Since the list of classes does not exist yet, we recommend placing in the class Furrial for now.
Furrial is the starting class every furrian individual(furrial) and shows the Typyl is capable of learning Furrial Classes.
The furrial class is displayed as such: {class1} {class2}
Both classes can be freely switched with any class of their choice at any time.
For non-typyl creatures, they are required to have the class Typis always present in their display class.
