Methinks this asks fer some trouble!
— Geir Evjen
Geir Evjen is a freshman high school student in Castelia Academy in Ask Castelia Academy. He is the cousin of Terje Vinter and is the son of Oyvind Evjen. Geir was also a student back at Lumiose High in Ask Lumiose High.
Geir is a young Meowstic with a chill demeanor. He often tends to act a little lazy, however his intelligence is not something to laugh at. He is not scared to speak his mind and comes off as cold and unfriendly most of the time. He loves stirring up trouble and one of his favourite things to do is mess with his fellow students who tend to ask him for help.
Geir is a young shiny meowstic. His fur is a slightly darker yellow than what a normal shiny meowstic would be. He has neatly kept hair that curls on the sides, however he has a single cowlick in the crease of his hair. When he decides to wear clothes, he usually wears a long-sleeved black button-up coat, a white shirt underneath and a tie (not very often).
Geir looks quite docile and gentle at first glance, however once you get to know him a little better, you’ll notice that he’s quite unfriendly and harsh with his words. He has no shame in calling others out and will blatantly point out any of your flaws. He’s very bold and isn’t afraid of approaching anybody. He often finds himself getting into trouble but doesn’t seem to mind the consequences and scolding, usually brushing it off like it’s nothing. Around his friends however, Geir seems to be almost an entirely new ‘mon. Although his bluntness is still there, he is seen to be nicer and often takes responsibility for anything bad they do. But as you can imagine, this doesn’t serve him well (although he doesn’t seem to care at all).
There’s one thing he absolutely hates though: helping others with schoolwork. If you ask him, he will agree begrudgingly, but will also probably deliberately mess up your homework for you.
Geir is involved in the math club and band, in which he plays the tenor sax.
WARNING: This whole section includes spoilers. You are warned.
Geir was born in Bergen, Norway, to a zoroark father (Oyvind) and a meowstic mother. They were both teachers—Oyvind being a high school music teacher and Geir’s mother being a physics professor and researcher. After Geir was born, Oyvind decided to stay home and take care of his son for most of the time.
When Geir was still an extremely young Espurr, his parents and his aunt, uncle and cousin (his mother’s side) moved to Lumiose City as the two meowstic sisters scored teaching jobs at Lumiose University. As he moved there at a very young age, Geir barely got to explore his home country.
He grew up in the bustling city of Lumiose, and was an energetic young Espurr. He would often sneak outside due to boredom inside his own house, and being an only child he didn’t have anyone to entertain him. An exasperated stay-at-home father consulted his mother about this, not knowing what to do and what to show him. Geir’s mother decided to give the young espurr a taste of her physics lab and equipment, and under careful monitoring, let him play with some of it. Fortunately, this intrigued him and he was quiet for a while.
Then the exciting day came! Geir’s parents decided to bring in their nephew Terje during the times his parents were at work. Geir was ecstatic and they hit it off the bat. Much to the mother’s dismay, Geir showed his cousin everything that his mom owned, and were often found fumbling around with her equipment (and of course were usually scolded for doing so). The two soon became inseparable.
However one day, Terje’s parents were killed in an accident and he was officially accepted into the Evjen family. The once-unbreakable bond between Geir and his cousin began to gradually weaken as time went by; However, Geir noticed Terje was spending more and more time in his room. Geir knew what he was doing—inventing and building machines to pass the tough time. Eventually, he decided to help his cousin out and also try his hand at building (after all, they both had a love for mathematics and physics!) and became closer once more.
At school, Geir was having less of a good time. He became bitter there, mostly with many bullies calling him a useless nerd for the various inventions he came up with (and almost none of them actually worked). He stopped building and tried to invest in other hobbies such as music. One thing was clear; Geir did not get along with many of the other ‘mon due to his bold, chilly nature. High school was the worst and he didn’t even get through a full year. His father, Oyvind, didn’t do so well during his first couple years at that same high school. He decided it’d be a good change for him and his boys to go meet new people and seek new opportunities. Castelia Academy was the unanimous choice among Oyvind, Geir and Terje.
